Kenyan on twitter have reacted to a complaint raised by the Popular CNN present Richard Quest on the traffic jam situation in Nairobi County.
The CNN presenter took to social media and posted a photo in which he might have taken as he was held up on the traffic jam. A situation that Kenyans are pretty much used to.
“The roundabouts have new traffic lights; which are usually switched off. Instead A policeman directs the traffic flow. The jams are extraordinary.” reads his tweet
Just when we thought he was more than impressed in Nairobi, as indicated in an article by a Kenyan local newspaper, after this tweet I wonder what could be the other faults that our visitor noticed but remained mute about.
From the local paper, the first thing Quest noticed was the light. Even over the terminal buildings, it was just gorgeous and on Karura forest, he felt that it is a park that rivals New York’s Central Park, London’s Hyde Park, or Sydney’s botanic gardens.
Well even if he had not noticed,Kenyans in response to his tweet gave him worse scenarios/ allegations so now he knows… have a look…
The hawkers collect cash and pay to the police men so that they hold traffic, this allows the hawkers extra time in the traffic to sell their wares. Quest means business, Jam means business pic.twitter.com/Pc5A9fhhaz

You forgot to credit causes of our traffic jams, non functional traffic lights – @KURAroads @KeNHAKenya @MikeSonko @JamesMacharia_ @NPSOfficial_KE @PoliceKE – None of them give a damn about law, order, productivity.

Don`t get astonished, very simple maybe traffic lights been switched off intentionally to create jam so that the police can be bribed, it is normal, corruption is our daily food in this country
