Why Raila is “immortal” and a political barometer; Kenyans face off

Raila Odinga’s new role in the African Union as the African Representative on Infrastructure development has raised a number of questions to the fate of Kenyan politics.

Speculations have been going on for quite some time whether Raila Odinga will quit politics to focus on his new role in the AU.

Raila has had in over  along time different political stands that have always spurred  public debate and participation. Raila has been the opposition leader for the long time.

The center of political dialogue have been revolving around him. His party ODM have been pushing agenda for change for the longest time in Kenya.

Kenya with its current state have not had any other person speaking publicly and expressing different opinions with a massive support has Raila has had. This has raised questions on the future politics of Kenya.

Raila is viewed to be one who has kept the government in check and balance especially the Jubilee government. Raila has been the smoking gun for most corruption cases revealed in the public.

ODM as a party depended on Raila Odinga in most of their glory. In fact most people are optimistic that if Raila quits from the political most ODM MP’s will remain orphans.

Kenyans have come out boldly to express their opinions on the future of Kenyan politics. Different opinions have been raised depending on his political impact to Kenya.

Kenyans are waiting to see if Raila will quit active politics and who will fit in shoes to push forward the political wave in Kenya. Who will stand for the citizens who do not agree with the government and who think otherwise.

Deputy President is viewed as the big political name but already he has his foot in the government and his eyeing for Presidency in 2022. Who will be groomed to fill the political gap incase it is created by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga resolves to ove out of politics.
