The party must stop; Discos to remain closed in Siaya County

After the provincial administration for Embu North banned discos and night time prayers last week, the Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal has now also banned all discos in the region ahead of this year’s national examinations.

Speaking at the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Siaya County stadium, the county boss directed all the chiefs and their assistants across the county to ensure the ban is implemented with immediate effect. This ban is expected to give candidates enough time to revise for their exams without any interruptions.

Mr. Ole Tialal expressed that this year’s candidates for both KCPE and KCSE examinations need to be accorded a conducive environment to be able to concentrate on their revision so as to perform better in their end year examinations. He also criticized the rising number of early teenage pregnancies saying that it has contributed to the high number of dropouts in the county especially amongst the girls.

The county boss also issued a stern warning to those involved in illicit brew saying that the government will continue the fight against the illicit brew saying that the law will deal with the perpetrators.

He commended the chiefs and their assistants for their efforts to combat the menace but regretted that the unlawful brews are still resurfacing after sometime.
