The two part edition, had begun on Thursday October 18 at the Uhuru Gardens, where jazz lovers in the city were treated to an unforgettable evening.

The park themed edition, crowned it all by combining the wild nature of Hell’s gate and the smooth yet powerful voice of Dianne Reeves, who was the main act of the night.

The setting for the event alone, projected the feeling of what it meant to have a five-time Grammy winner perform at one of the best destinations in the country.

Lights both at the main stage and the food tent, amplified the mood that had already been created by the expectations of what the night would be like.

Adoc, which is a jazz Kenyan band, were the opening act and showcased the raw talent they possessed.

The long-awaited moment at last came when Reeves took to the stage and delivered a performance that left the crowd cheering.

Her vocals and control of emotions, gave jazz a whole new meaning and took the jazz enthusiast on a trip down the memory lane to the good old days.

Earnings from the tickets sales of both events were donated to the Ghetto Classics music programme that has been the beneficiary of the Safaricom Jazz International festival since 2014.
