Jacque Maribe Dumps Jowie, Who is Next in Line?

TV Journalist Jacque Maribe might have just already given us a hint on the state of her relationship with his co-accused Joseph Irungu alias Jowie. In an affidavit filed at the High Court, Maribe uses a language to suggest that Jowie is her ex lover.

“Irungu was my fiancé as at then and in the circumstances, I definitely communicated with him. It is most unfair to use the communication between me and him in the given circumstances of our then existing relationship as a reason to deny me bail,” part of the affidavit reads.

Maribe says that their relationship existed then and that Irungu was her Fiance.

Maribe has also asked the court to release her on bail as she was only facing prosecution because she was in love with the person the prosecution has interest in.

Maribe said that the prosecution had no evidence linking her to the murder of Monica Kimani saying that her only link was the fact that she shared a house and a car with the accused person Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Jowie whom she admits was her fiance at the time of the incident.

Maribe also says that the burnt clothes allegedly used to commit the crime were not found in her compound as the police claim and therefore it is wrong of the police to claim that the burning took place in her compound.

“The investigators in the course of investigating showed me where they said the fire was lit. The location is not in my residence nor my compound. It is away from the compound hence it is false to allege the burning was within my residence,” she revealed.

Maribe, with what she termed as having spoken the truth, wants to be set free citing her four year child as highly depending on her since she is a single parent.

Ms Maribe, 30, was arrested on September 29 over the murder of Ms Kimani, 28. She and her fiancé,  Jowie, have denied killing Ms Kimani, whose body was found in the bathtub at her Lamuria Gardens apartment on September 19.

Maribe and Irungu will be back to Court on 24 to get the ruling on their bail application.
