Here in the coach Thierry Henry is looking to emulate

Newly appointed AS Monaco manager, Thierry Henry is looking to emulate Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as he begins his managerial career.

Henry began his managerial career last week as he was appointed AS Monaco manager following the sacking of Leonardo Jardim after a string of poor results. Henry had previously held the assistant manager role with the Belgium national team helping the team to a third-place finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

After playing under Guardiola in his Barcelona days, Henry revealed that he is looking emulate him, “Pep is the reference, for me. The invention he had in the game; he’s well ahead of the game. There’s no right or wrong; that’s the reference for me. I re-learned how to play the game when I went to Barcelona under him.”

The former French international went on to talk about Guardiola’s obsession with the game, “With Pep you can talk about the game; he will not even go to sleep and will still talk about the game, you will fall asleep and he’s still talking. You learn from people; they inspire you. But you also need to put your own little mix in it.”
