Uhuru Promises to Deal With Exam Crooks Accordingly.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned those bent on attempts to corrupt the country’s exam systems of dire consequences while also promising that his government will deliver clean exams.

The President said the government will keep on the trend it has established of making national exams free of cheating and taking strong measures against any attempts to steal or leak examinations.

The Head of State made the pledge when he opened the inaugural international conference on Early Childhood Development and education bringing together all African nations.

“My Administration has taken bold measures to make examinations credible and I commend those who work hard and long hours to achieve this,” said the President. “I condemn those who insist on corrupting our exam system,” said Kenyatta.

He assured all students and candidates that they will be shielded from unscrupulous individuals whose wish is to take advantage of their situation.

The Ministry of Education has threatened to withdraw the certificates of children aided by their parents to cheat by buying them fake  KCPE and KCSE papers.

Education CS Amina Mohammed had earlier stated that the ministry has identified cartels behind the sale of fake examination papers to unsuspecting parents and candidates and promised to engage the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions, Attorney General, and Interior Ministry to deal with the culprits.

She assured parents and students of the safety of the examination materials, noting that at least 224 police officers will escort the papers from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) head office to county storage facilities.

Announcing a raft of measures to guarantee the credibility of exams, the CS said anyone found in breach of exam regulations will be apprehended on the spot and charged.
