Flying Squad Chase Police in Kidnapping

Flying squad officers are chasing after police officers after a kidnapping incident went wrong.

The police officers, corporal Kennedy Ojwang’ and constable Moses Njagi, are suspected of kidnapping a motorist in Athi River on Saturday evening.

According to a police brief, Philemon Okelo the victim was hijacked at Delta Petrol Station along Mombasa Road.

His kidnappers then demanded Ksh300,000 ransom from his wife to secure his release.

The kidnappers took Okelo around Kayole and Kangundo Road before abandoning him at Shell Petrol Station along Ruiru Bypass.

The motorist reported the matter to Mama Lucy Kibaki AP camp where he narrated his ordeal after the hijack by a four-man gang forced him in his car (KBP 464Z).

Okelo noted that the kidnappers were in possession of a police pocket phone.

The other two kidnappers were civilians identified as Richard Ondiek and a man identified only as Ben.

The gang escaped arrest in Ruiru where they had been cornered by police although their accomplices constable Kelvin Ndosi of Central police station and civilian Michael Ochieng were arrested.

Ndosi was found with a police radio which was kept by the flying squad team as exhibit.

Ndosi and Njagi have a pending robbery with violence case where they allegedly took off with cash and valuables worth Ksh5,463,000 on September 26 at an apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi.

Abdoulaye Bathly was reportedly robbed of Ksh83,000 in cash, three watches valued at Ksh150,000 each, two mobile phones and credit cards.
