Stars will qualify to the Cup of Nations with the win if the Confederation of African Football will confirm the expulsion of Sierra Leone from the qualifiers with the West Africans currently under a FIFA ban.

Siera Leone’s match against Ghana was called off pending a decision from the continental body.

Stars will now face Siera Leone in their next group stage match in November this year, a match they will need to win in Nairobi to solidly confirm their place in the Cup of Nations.

The Sunday win sent Stars on top of Group F with 7 points accumulated in the four matches played with Ghana and Siera Leone having two matches pending.

Ethiopia whose chances are dwindling will face Ghana in the second week of November a match that will determine whether Stars will sail through the group stages at the top of Group F.

Senior Government officials led by Deputy President William Ruto, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka lead the over 50,000 fans who turned up to cheer the national team.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Woman Rep Esther Passaris were also in attendance during the match as while thousands of patriotic Kenyans were turned away as the arena filled up two-hours to the kickoff.
