Migori governor Okoth Obado and his co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero will remain in custody until 24th of October, when a determination on their bail application will be made.

A frail looking Obado, who has spend his last few days in custody at Kenyatta National Hospital having fallen sick, came to court with the hope that he will at least be able to walk home.

But that did not happen, as Justice Jessie Lessit said that the accused will have to remain at Industrial Area Police Station for 12 more days.

”The ruling will be given on 24th October at 9 am, If you feel it’s far, I see it as the nearest date, or we can move it further” Lady Justice.

The court gave out the date after hearing submissions from parties in the case.

The prosecution insisted that Obado and his co-accused Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero should not be released on bail.

This is Obado’s second attempt at securing bail in the Sharon Otieno murder case. On October 8, the trio pleaded not guilty to the murder of 26-year-old Sharon Otieno.

The trio are also facing a fresh count of murder after the court allowed the prosecution to amend the charge sheet to include that of Sharon Otieno’s baby.
