International football may be stealing the limelight at the moment, but that doesn’t stop the odd Premier League transfer story from shooting into the frame.

The latest of which involves a former Premier League and FA Cup winner who previously played for a couple of English clubs, before venturing over to Spain, then Turkey, while he’s currently planning his comeback from a drugs ban.

We are of course referring to Samir Nasri who sported the shirt of Arsenal between 2008 and 2011, before making the controversial switch to Man City where he would lift two Premier League trophies in the space of three seasons, along with the FA Cup and Community Shield.

Now Ian Ladyman from the Daily Mail is reporting that the Frenchman could soon be set to return to England, with Marco Silva’s Everton believed to be interested in acquiring his services.

The Toffees wouldn’t have to shed out a single penny in transfer fees as Nasri is available on a free transfer, and can start training with any club from next month.

The 31-year-old free agent is still serving a ban for an anti-doping violation after he received a drip treatment in a Los Angeles clinic two years ago.

His lack of game time could be a concern as he’s not played since leaving Turkish outfit Antalyaspor back in January.

But Silva is keen to bolster his attacking options and if he can get the best out of Nasri then the Merseyside outfit will be a threat to any team going forward.

Summer signing Richarlison has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, while Gylfi Sigurdsson is brimming with confidence following his stunning winner at Leicester last weekend.

Everton are currently 11th in the table with 12 points from eight games with their next fixture at home to Crystal Palace following the conclusion of the international break.
