Bobi Wine: Whichever Way it ends, Museveni’s end is near

Pop star Uganda politician Bobi Wine has told President Yoweri Museveni to prepare to leave power. According to the Kyandoto East MP, the president has overstayed his usefulness.

‘We want to talk to our president nicely but if he insists on being stubborn we intend to push him nicely.’ He said during an interview with Jeff Koinange on Citizen TV.

The firebrand politician accused the Ugandan President of being drank with absolute power.

“Yoweri Museveni was on the right course before he got consumed with the effects of absolute power. What we desire to see is a president that will not be scared to live in his country after he relinquishes power.”

He said Museveni has become worse than his infamous predecessor Iddi Amin Dada. Amin is remembered for presiding over the massacre of several Ugandans during his ill fated tenure between 1971 and 1979.

“I did not see Idi Amin but I think Museveni is worse; he has misruled us longer than Idi Amin and he has messed up everything that Amin did; Idi Amin was a dictator but he did not destroy the infrastructure, he did not condone corruption,” said Bobi Wine.

The outspoken rapper issued a rallying cry to his fellow Ugandans telling them “Freedom comes to those who fight not those who cry because the more you cry the more your people continue to die so rise and defend your rights”

He said that Museveni’s end is near whichever way it ends.

“I’m convinced that oppressed people cannot be oppressed forever, President Museveni was once not in power…”

“We want a servant leader and not a ‘boss leader’. Lets us give power to the people to choose and unchoose that president”

He however said that he hoped things will end better for Uganda than how it ended in Zimbabwe during the ouster of Robert Mugabe. The military staged a bloodless coup to force the veteran leader to relinquish instruments of power.

When asked if he wanted to become Uganda’s president, Bobi gave a cryptic answer.

“That is not the issue; I want to be free now.”
