Could Suspect Kassaine have survived Monica Kimani’s murder case?

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Nordin Haji on Tuesday gave orders to have prime suspects in the murder of business woman Monica Kimani Nyawira presented before the High Court and charged with murder.

Monica was found dead last month in her residential house in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate in a bathtub with her throat slit.

In DPP’s statement, the suspect Brian Kassaine who is believed to have given killer suspect Joseph Irungu alias Joe Jowie a gun has been excluded.

The DPP ordered for the presentation to the high court of television journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiance Jowie for murder charges.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said he has sanctioned murder charges against the duo after reviewing the evidence gathered by detectives so far.

“I am satisfied that there exists a prima facie case to warrant criminal prosecution,” Mr Haji stated.

“I have therefore directed that they be immediately arraigned before the High Court and charged accordingly.”

By excluding Mr Brian Kassaine, the other suspect in police custody over Ms Kimani’s September 19 murder at Lamuria Gardens, it means he will be a State witness in the case against the couple.
