Okoth Obado(L), Sharon Otieno(R)

Migori Governor Okoth Obado was on Monday arraigned in Court alongside his two aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero.

The case against the trio was merged as they face similar cases into the murder of slain Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno.

Obado who has been fruitlessly seeking his release on bail faced another blow after Justice Jessie Lessit denied him charged him afresh with two counts of murder, that of Sharon and her unborn infant.

Justice Lessit ordered for the detention of the trio till Friday October 12 when hearing into their bail application will be heard.

Obado had on Friday filed another application seeking his release where he cited his health as deteriorating after he was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital following a stomachache.

However, details have emerged that Sharon’s mother Melida Auma filed an application at the high court seeking to bar Obado’s release on bail citing fear of witnesses intimidation.

One of Royal Media services radio station reported that Sharon’s mother application came as a result of Obado’s arraignment in Court on Monday.

The Migori County boss’ fate is yet to be known now that he faces two counts of murder.

His two aides, Oyamo and Obiero face the same charges.
