Obado’s case adjourned till October 12 as he expects to face two murder charges

The Migori governor is set to remain behind bars till Friday October 12, when his case and bail hearing will be heard again. The case has been merged together with Michael Oyamo and Kaspul Obiero.

The prosecution said that they were not ready to proceed because they had received applications from the defense and they were yet to respond. The three will remain in custody despite the governors application for the bail on medical grounds. Their case will be heard combined and hard together.

The two took a plea of not guilty on the two counts of murder of the governors lover Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby , Baby Sharon.

Federation of women lawyers (FIDA)  have made an application hold brief on behalf of the family.

The three are being held in connection with the brutal murder of Sharon and the her unborn baby. The office of the prosecution is set to open two murder charges against the three . Apart from killing of Sharon , the killing of the unborn baby will also amount to the charges placed against the three.

Obado who is currently admitted in Kenyatta Hospital will remain behind bars till Friday when his lawyers will try to present a bail for him to be granted on the medical grounds.

In the previous hearing Obado and the other two were denied bail on the grounds that they could interfere with the process of investigation which is still on going.

This comes a week long after the family of the late Sharon condemned the Kenyans on social media who  were claiming that the family wants help from the county government of Migori.

Although the family has started the preparation for the burial which will happen over the weekend. The decision to go a head with the burial contradicts with their earlier claims that they wont bury their dead till justice is served.

The family expressed their satisfaction with the team carrying out the process of investigation to bring the perpetrators into book. The court proceedings which they said will serve them justice has prompted the decision of going on with the burial plans of the murdered , Sharon Otieno.

Governor Obado in the week of his arrest , faced impeachment threats from the members of the county government of Migori. But the debate has since gone silent with sections of the residents taking on the streets to demand that their governor be released.

The charges labelled against him have shaken his political ground . Most members of parliament and governors have refused to comment on the matter.

Kapul Obiero and Michael Oyamo are also held in custody for their alleged involvement to this brutal murder. According to the arrest reasons the two had their phones tracked back to the scene of the murder in Kodera forest. The two are close workers of governor Obado are linked to have conspired with the governor to carry out the murder and the abduction of the Nation Journalist.

The three are expected to be presented in court to answer to the charges in which they earlier denied and claimed not guilty.

Their hearing comes in a week where Joe ‘Jowie’ Irungu is also expected to answer to the murder charges linking him to the murder of Monica Kimani. Jowie is held in custody along with Jackie Maribe who is her lover and the famous TV journalist who broke the news of the murder to the public on Citizen TV. Brian Kasaine is also being held , as an accomplice in which the gun Jowie used to shot himself is registered under him. Jowie is expected to face two charges of alleged murder of Monica Kimani In his home at Kilimani at attempted murder on his own life.
