Liverpool and Manchester City played out a surprising goalless draw at Anfield as the spoils were shared on Merseyside.
Neither side did enough to claim they were deserved winners but the visitors should have claimed all three points when Riyad Mahrez had a penalty in the closing stages, but the Algerian could only fire woefully high.
Oh, Riyad.
When you take a penalty in the 86th minute to win at Anfield and sky it over the bar… ?
Riyad Mahrez misses an 86th minute spot kick as it finishes goalless.

The Algerian had the perfect opportunity to endear himself to the Manchester City fans as the Blues were awarded a penalty in the closing stages.
It was a clumsy challenge by Virgil van Dijk on Leroy Sane and the referee was absolutely right to point to the spot.
The decision for Mane to take the spot kick was perhaps a surprising one given he has missed three of his last five attempts from 12 yards.
But, with Sergio Aguero having already been substituted, it was the former Leicester forward who stepped up, but he could only blaze over the crossbar.
Replays showed he actually pushed Gabriel Jesus away when they were deliberating over who should take the penalty.
Something tells me he won’t be on the next one.
