Blow to Obado as Odinga moves masses in Rongo

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has on Thursday moved masses in Rongo in his efforts to campaign for his candidate in the upcoming Migori senatorial by-elections Ochilo Ayacko.

According to an update by ODM Party’s official twitter account, Rongo people have come into terms with Odinga and vowed to vote for Ayacko come Monday, October 8.

The Migori senate seat was left vacant after the demise of Senator Ben Oluoch in June.

Odinga’s team led by deputy party leader Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho have been in Migori since Monday trying to convince the masses to vote for Ayacko.

Earlier on another team led by Party’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna who is currently in Denmark was in the area campaigning for Ayacko.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado who is currently under detention at Industrial area prison and reportedly fell sick on Wednesday will face a blow as his preferred candidate in the race Eddy Oketch Gicheru may lack someone to drive the masses for him.

Oketch is contesting for the senatorial seat on a Federal Party ticket and enjoys a massive support from Governor Obado and his allies.

Obado was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital on Monday of a stomachache and will be arraigned in court on Monday October 8 for his bail hearing.
