Melania Trump’s mission in Kenya: Details

Melania Trump seems to be excited about her four-week long tour of Africa which she kicked off in Ghana. The First Lady of the United States is expected to visit Kenya on Friday, October 5th 2018. Melania expressed her anticipation of her visit in a recent tweet:

This is her first big solo international trip and is focused on promoting her ‘Be Best initiative’ which was unveiled in May and is her official agenda designed to improve children’s well-being. Upon arrival to Kenya, Melania is expected to hold two close-door meetings. One with President Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta at State House while the other one is scheduled to be with the US embassy in Nairobi.

As part of her trip to Kenya, she is expected to watch a performance by Sarakasi dancers, a creative choreography that will tell the story of a child from the ghetto who rises to stardom despite her background and the challenges she faced.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is expected to accompany Melania for this. Meanwhile, the preparations for this performance are currently underway at the Kenya National Theatre.

First Lady Melania Trump is also scheduled to visit the animal orphanage in Nairobi National Park and is even expected to adopt an animal. According to spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham, this African tour is close to her heart. “This is her trip, her initiative,” she said.

Melania’s trip to Africa has evoked different reactions especially after her husband, Donald Trump made impolite remarks about the continent.
