That is according to pundit Charlie Nicholas. The pressure on Mourinho and his position as Manchester United boss is mounting after they failed to win for the fourth successive match.

Last night, United drew 0-0 with Valencia in the Champions League at Old Trafford and after the game there were boos from the home crowd. Mourinho insisted he was unperturbed by the show of dissent by supporters.

But Nicholas believes the rumours Zinedine Zidane may replace Mourinho will grow louder and predicted a decision could be made after the upcoming internationals.

”The questions will be asked, and it’ll be Jose who’s going to have to face the music,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“It’s running down, I didn’t expect him to finish this season, but I didn’t see it ending like this. I don’t see this lasting.

“I think we might come back from the international break and if Jose is in the pain that he looks in, I think there’ll be a deal done.

“Everyone is ringing this Zidane bell at the moment. It’s going to get louder this week.”

Mourinho has been critical of his players in recent weeks and yesterday claimed they lack the technical quality to start attacks from the back.

“The players tried. They raised the level of their efforts [from West Ham],” Mourinho said.

“They raised the level of their intensity in spite of the fact we don’t have many with that intensity.

“We don’t have the technical quality to build from the back.

“We tried to do something we did well which was to stop a fast team on the counter attack. We knew we wouldn’t create 20 chances.

“Our attacking players aren’t in their best moments of confidence and individual level.

“We thought with three or four chances we would score and win the game.”
