Is Arsenal cursed?

Arsenal has once again missed out on the list of the 40 youngster who will battle for the Golden Boy award.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup Best Young Player, Kylian Mbappewill be looking to win the Golden Boy award for the second consecutive time after being shortlisted in the 2018 Golden Boy awards while Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot makes the cut.

The English Premier League has only produced four players with  Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton each having a player in the 40-man shortlist. Senegalese right back Moussa Wague who impressed at the World Cup is also in the shortlist after signing for Barcelona B in the summer. Italian publication Tuttosport initially announced a 100-man shortlist, and is cutting 20 names each month until the winner is announced in December.

The Golden Boy is an award that is given by sports journalists to a young football player playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year (two halves to two separate seasons). All nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation’s top .
