Here is what Mourinho-Zidane talked about

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has refused to deny that he had a chat with former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as rumors continue to tip the Frenchman to replace Mourinho.

An article by Spanish press over the weekend indicated that Zinedine Zidane rang Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to personally confirm that he is not looking to replace him in the dugout. After the defeat to Derby County Zinedine Zidane was installed as the bookmakers favorite to replace Jose Mourinho as the Manchester United manager.

In a press conference in the build-up to the Valencia game, Mourinho replied in Spanish and then gestured to the journalist who wrote the story, who did not understand what he had said. Mourinho then joked in English, “I said ask you what you wrote. He has written it, you need to ask him. He put a bug on my telephone so why don’t you ask him?”

The Portuguese manager further stated the importance of the Champions League, “Champions League week is always a good week even if you expect a difficult match, a difficult opponent. Is a big week, everybody wants to play Champions League, not everybody can do it so we are here and have a chance to play a big match, big week.”
