Former Citizen TV news anchor and the CEO of Fanaka TV Terryanne Chebet has distanced herself from reports that she has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over Jacque Maribe’s case.
Through her social media pages, Chebet stated that DCI had not reached out to her to give a statement on Ms Maribe’s case, who also happens to be her close friend.

She added that, she is available and ready to testify as a character witness, if called upon.

“Good morning guys, it has come to my attention that I have allegedly summoned by DCI in connection to my friend Jacque’s arrest. First I would like to clarify that DCI has not reached out to me and I have only read about it online. While I am not involved in the unfortunate events, I understand that by virtue of being Jacque’s friend, I may be called upon as a character witness. Should I be called upon, I am available” wrote TerryAnne.

On Monday, the Citizen TV news anchor suffered another blow after a Kiambu Court ruled that she will be detained for 10 more days at Gigiri Police Station, to allow for further investigations.

Ms. Maribe who was arrested on Saturday after detectives said they had found new evidence was arraigned in a Kiambu Court where she was charged.

Her bail application was also denied after the prosecution asked to have her detained for 10 more days until investigations into the brutal murder of Monika Nyawira Kimani are complete.

The Court further directed that Maribe should not be forced to record any statements in the absence of her lawyer Katwa Kigen.

Maribe and her fiancée Joseph Irungu are in police custody after being linked to the brutal murder of Monica Kimani.

Detectives looking into the murder of Business woman Monica Kimani are expected to interrogate three more media personalities, to establish more information on what they know about Jacque Maribe and her fiancée Joseph Irungu.
The three, who are believed to be close friends to Maribe and Irungu, will be required to record statements with officers investigating the brutal murder.

The three have only been identified by their job description which are; a radio presenter, a TV news anchor and a news director.

On Saturday, Police recovered a gun believed to have been used by Irungu to shoot himself on the lower part of his shoulder, after conducting a search at Brian Kasaine’s house, who happens to be Ms Maribe’s neighbour. Kasaine was also arrested for more interrogation.

On Monday, detectives brought Maribe to Kiambu law courts at 8:30am where she is excepted to be charged.

Maribe, who broke the news of Ms Kimani’s death on TV, was arrested on Saturday, days after she was interrogated by detectives.

Her fiancé Irungu, the main suspect in the murder, was last week presented before Kiambu Senior Resident Magistrate Stella Atambo who allowed police to detain him for 10 more days as they investigate the case.

The lifeless body of Monica was discovered by her brother George at Luciane Apartments at Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt road in Kilimani. She was laid to rest on Friday.
