The ODM Party has reacted to Ruto’ s claim of being thrown out of the party. On tweet shared on their platform, the party asked Ruto to produce the letter that he received from the party “We welcome brother William Samoei Arap Ruto, the former Deputy Party Leader to produce a copy of the show cause letter he says he received from the party for purposes of clarity. We seem not to have it… Kindly let him help us get a copy. Thank you.”
“In the meantime we are not ready to engage in infantile, trifle and puerile politics being perpetuated by a people who have developed hate for Peace, Love & Unity of Kenyans. ODM Leader @RailaOdinga will continue to work with @UKenyatta to Unite Kenyans & restoration of Peace.” reads another tweet
This reaction comes a day after Deputy President William Ruto accused Raila Odinga for being a ‘conman’ and with intention to remove him from the Jubilee Party.
“The handshake is not a license so that you can bring confusion, propaganda and conman-ship into our party,”said Ruto in a veiled attack at the ODM Party leader.
ODM leaders led by Governor Hassan Joho reacted to DP William after he accused Raila Odinga of ‘conmanship.’ Speaking to the press on Monday in Nairobi, Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho urged the Deputy President to respect Mr. Odinga, saying the DP is not the former premier’s political equal.
Kenyans have however called out on the DP saying that his statement was triggered by a feeling of insecurity and worry.
ODM party had earlier responded saying that there is no single day or time that the ODM Party summoned Hon. William Ruto to appear before any of its committees including the Disciplinary Committee as he claims. He was a NEC Member but abdicated his role in the in the party voluntarily to advance his interests elsewhere.
ODM party went ahead and stated that “The Party Leader @RailaOdinga has never been interested in meddling in Jubilee party affairs. He has never even dreamed of becoming a Member of that party. However, his resolve to work with its leader @UKenyatta to fix the country & unite the people of Kenya is unstoppable.”
