News of extra-marital affairs involving prominent personalities has hit headlines numerous times in the recent past.
Some of the scandals usually end in nasty trials or even death as in the latest case involving Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
We take a look at some of the prominent figures caught up in love scandals in Kenya.
This is certainly the latest marital scandal in Kenya involving a high profile figure. The governor was adversely named during probes into the death of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
On the night of September 4th 2018, Sharon’s body was found dumped in a forest in Homa Bay County with stab wounds. She was seven months pregnant and DNA tests confirmed that the unborn baby was Governor Obado’s.
Recently, The Nairobian revealed shocking details on the governor’s secret affair with his wife’s sister, Rhoda Odie Nyakwaka.
Obado’s wife, Hellen, is said to have gone ballistic after the discovery, claims which Obado’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta denied.
Sources revealed that the governor started dating Rhoda after employing her in the catering department at the county’s headquarters.
A relative further revealed that the governor had bought her a house in Nyasare estate in Migori town. Reports also indicated that the governor had impregnated her, but the pregnancy was terminated after angry relatives accused her of crossing the blood line.
Hellen and Rhoda have remained bitter enemies to date.
The governor is currently under arrest, with the bail hearing set for Thursday.
Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba, was a darling of social media users, often splashing dozens of photos alongside Prisca Mwaro on holidays.
Then came the storm. Prisca, who accused him of having multiple affairs left her matrimonial home leaving Ababu in the cold.
She particularly alleged that her husband was cohabiting with his niece, Cecilia Moraa, besides dating two other college girls.
Prisca who currently lives alone refused to comment on anything to do with the fallout, instead directing the questions to Ababu and the girls.
On his part, Ababu accused Prisca whom he has three children with of drinking too much and cheating on him.
The Kirinyaga Deputy Governor was caught butt-naked with one Elizabeth Waithera Njuguna, but later denied the affair, terming it blackmail by his tormentors.
Waithera is believed to be an “expert in sex set-ups” and reportedly worked with the gang.
An explicit video of the deputy governor was released after he allegedly refused to pay millions of shillings to the gang.
Ndambiri, who claimed he was forced into bed with the woman was forced to leave the fifth edition of the devolution conference he was attending in Kakamega County.
According to reports, Waithera, who is a single mother has since moved from Kahawa West and currently resides in Ruiru on the outskirts of Nairobi.
