Her full names are Jessie Wanjiku Lessit and is stationed at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi. Lessit has over 15 years experience as a criminal Judge and has in the recent years handled high profile murder cases.
She is known for her strictness when it comes to law and conduct of lawyers, journalists and all those who attend her court sessions. She is currently handling Sharon Otieno’s murder case and has today denied bail for Migori County Governor Okoth Obado who is being charged with aiding and abetting Sharon’s killing.
In July, Lessit sentenced former Langata Prisons beauty queen Ruth Kamande to death who was charged for stabbing her boyfriend 22 times.
She also handled the case of Sheila Wanjiku Kibinge at the High Court, where she was sentenced to death for killing her husband, Leonard Kibinge Kiruri, on April 14, 2014.
