Muturi rejects MP’s trip to Japan

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has quashed a request by 10 Members of Parliament to fly to Tokyo, Japan for the The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball Women’s World Championships slated for September 29.

The MPs are said to have requested a 14-day fully-funded trip to Tokyo to watch the women’s volleyball national team – Malkia Queens.

Expenses included air tickets, accommodation, match tickets and meals – which would have been paid for by the common mwananchi.

However, Speaker Justin Muturi would have none of this since the government has already started measures to cut down the budget in order raise enough revenue to meet key obligations.
