Emery denies blocking Joachim Low from seeing Ozil at Arsenal training ground

Arsenal Head coach  Unai Emery has denied he blocked Germany National team manager Joachim Low from entering Arsenal’s training ground to speak to Mesut Ozil.

Reports from Germany this week claimed Low had a request to see Ozil at Arsenal’s training base turned down, and that Emery was the one behind the barring.

Ozil and Low are in the midst of a row over his international retirement, after the midfielder attributed his early exit to the ‘racism’ he faced due to his Turkish decent.

Low was in London and is thought to have wanted a sit-down with Ozil, but Emery rubbished reports that it was him who denied the Germany head coach access to Arsenal and their star attacker.

The Spaniard said, ‘It’s not true that I didn’t let Mesut meet with Low, i had no problem in our situation in the training ground. It’s not true.”

After reports emerged of Emery’s intervention, contradictory claims insisted Low was in London to see Per Mertesacker, and that Ozil was not even at London Colney.

Ozil watched from the stands at the Emirates on Wednesday night as Arsenal won  3-1 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup.

Danny Welbeck scored twice on his return to the starting line-up and French striker Alexandre acazette scored the Gunners’ sthird goal.
