Kenyans online have noted with concern of the newly completed Ngong Standard Gauge Railway tunnel resembles a project in China.
Taking to his twitter account the Secretary of Digital Innovation and Diaspora in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi shared a photo of the tunnel on Monday that brought an uproar on social media
Kenya is officially home to the longest railway tunnel in East Africa. SGR Ngong Tunnel completed. @SGRHeadOffice @JamesMacharia_ #TransformingTransportKE pic.twitter.com/JaQ2Un37hh

For a moment Kenyans thought every single detail of the project was Chinese starting with the Chinese writings with no English translations.
Further, the architectural design of the tunnel resemble majority of Chinese tunnel and bridges.
Kenyans commenting on Itumbi’s update questioned why the writings were in Chinese.
Here are some reactions.
Longest railway tunnel in China or Kenya… lol

I had no idea the Chinese are going to run the railway for ten years, more worse tricks could be up their sleeve; @UKenyatta is a sellout, scam!
