The MV Nyerere ferry disaster death toll has risen to 218 after more bodies being found on Sunday 23th 2018.
The burial of the victims has started this Sunday.
The chief of defence forces Venance Mabeyo on Saturday told reporters that the burial of the victims would start on Sunday due to inadequate mortuary facilities and the bad condition of most of the bodies.
The minister for Transport, Communication and Works Isack Kamwelwe also told reporters that the death toll had reached 218 by Saturday evening.
People have continued to send their messages of condolence through social media to the families of the victims and Tanzania nation at large.
They are holding prayers for the perished souls in the #MVNyerere disaster. If only we could stop praying for the dead and start enforcing rules and regulations, procedures and policies? I am sorry guys, I broke my no politics rule on my TL but damn!!!
