Arsenal impress on Europa but might stay out for some time

Arsenal summer signing Lucas Torreira made his debut start for the club on Thursday night in the Europa League, helping his side to beat Vorskla 4-2.

Torreira impressed his boss Unai Emery before he was taken off in the second half with a knock, paving way for Matteo Guendouzi shortly before the hour. The Uruguayan was severally fouled in the match which led to him being attended to medics before he was allowed to continue. Arsenal boss Unai Emery assessed the midfielder who was sharp in his passes and interceptions during the match.

“Each match we play, I am responsible for the group and for Torreira also. I think it is better [for him] to leave the match. I hope that [after] tomorrow and Saturday, he will be okay for Sunday,” said Emery.

“Lucas is playing with his progress on the team and on our ideas. Each minute he is playing, he is doing very well,” he added.

Arsenal takes on Everton on Sunday 23rd in a Premier League clash looking to make it five wins in a row.
