News that former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was arrested again on Thursday morning has not gone down well with a section of Kenyans. Some people believe that is just a theatric move to divert our attention from the ongoing conversation on 8% tax on Petroleum Products.
The theory is further affirmed by Kidero’s statement to the media, in which he accused the EACC of harrasment.
“This is pure harassment and a violation of my rights and we will not take this laying down,” he told journalists after the morning incident. According to him, the detectives arrived at his home at 6am with a search warrant despite no evidence linking him to corruption.
And now Kenyans have echoed his sentiments saying that the only reason the former Mumias Sugar CEO was arrested was to divert our attention.
Why arrest Evans Kidero to divert our attention from the proposed 8% VAT on petroleum products???

The arrest of Evans Kidero won’t divert our attention off this conspiracy to impose 8% VAT tax on fuel by the Executive and the corrupt Parliamentarians. This #FinanceBill2018 is a white elephant in the room And must be resisted #TaxVoteKe we demand 0% VAT tax on fuel period!

Let not the Raid on Evans Kidero distract you from the fact that Jubilee wants us to fund their Hunger to Loot more public funds. The Taxes are obnoxious and cantankerous. Resist such diversions.
