Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has revealed that he believes Mesut Ozil is the best footballer at The Emirates.
And tonight they begin their Europa League campaign at home to Ukrainian outfit Vorskla Poltava in Group E.
The weakened opposition for tonight’s game could give Emery a chance to rest star names, with Ozil and Xhaka both in line to be replaced.
Both players scored in the Gunners 2-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday, and are expected to be kept fresh for Sunday’s fixture at home to Everton.
However, Unai Emery is keen for Ozil to broaden his skill-set and learn to play outside of the No.10 role.
The German’s languid playing style also contrasts his manager’s hard working style of play.
However, Xhaka has leapt to the defence of his team mate, describing him as the best player he has ever played with.
The Swiss Captain added.“He likes doing things with the ball, he likes having it at his feet and he’s an exceptional footballer.”
Xhaka went on to describe his personality off the pitch, heaping praise on the ‘helpful’ German.
The number 34 continued saying that the World Champion is a brilliant guy, very open and always helps others.
Granit concluded by saying “He’s a lovely guy, friendly, and I can only say positive things about him.”
