Kidero raided, arrested again as Detectives Seek Cash, Documents

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has been arrested at his Muthaiga home in ongoing investigations into alleged corruption.

Police and anti-corruption detectives are alleged to have arrived at Kidero’s home on Thursday 2:00 am and launched a search for Cash and documents.

At around 11:35 am the detectives left with Kidero for interrogation at the EACC Headquarters.

Kidero who was Mumias Sugar’s managing Director before being elected denied being under arrest and termed the incident as pure harassment..

He said the detectives had not found any documents in their first raid thus wondering what evidence they were looking for.

“I was arrested on the 9th of August. We have been in court twice and there is no evidence adduced. This morning, EACC came with a search warrant for my house. It would appear to me that they are looking for evidence because they never had evidence to arrest me in the first place. They should have had evidence before arresting me,” he said.
