From Launching Cattle Dips to Commissioning Footbridges: Kenyans Expose the theatrics of their Politicians

Senate Deputy Speaker Professor Kithure Kindike who also doubles up as the Tharaka Nithi Senator was a butt of all jokes early this year when pictures of him taking part in the construction of mud-walled classrooms at Kamutuandu primary school in Tharaka constituency went viral.

It was also alleged that Kindike, who is one of those being touted to be William Ruto’s running mate in 2022 arrived at the venue using a chopper, a report that has not been substantiated.

Apparently, Kindike is not the only politician to try such theatrics. On Tuesday, Kenyans on Twitter exposed some of the most mediocre projects politicians have ever launched.

Top of the chart was when Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti, commissioned a DSTV installation in his Constituency in 2015. The fact that the commissioning came with a plaque makes it even more hilarious.

Bomet East MP Benard Bett was also blasted for launching a classroom that looked a bit old.

Alfred Keter also traveled all the way to Nandi to launch two water tanks.

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto also made the list when he allegedly traveled upcountry to launch a cattle Dip worth six thousand.
