Eliud Kipchoge post Berlin marathon gifts shocks world

Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge smashed the marathon world record by clocking a time of two hours one minute 39 seconds in Berlin.

Eliud Kipchoge has been rewarded with Isuzu D-max  as part of a deal the Olympic superman landed with the car dealer early September when he renewed his partnership as the Isuzu D-max brand ambassador for another two years.

Isuzu EA managing director Rita Kavashe stated that Kipchoge had seen the company realize success; “Through his world-class performances, he (Kipchoge) has demonstrated remarkable strength, resilience and reliability in the races he has participated in.

“We’ve seen great value in bringing together these two strong brands. We are proud to have Eliud as our Isuzu Dmax brand ambassador.”

According to the company, Kipchoge resonates particularly well with the key attributes of the Isuzu brand.

On the partnership, Kipchoge admitted that he was delighted in the company’s efforts in supporting sports activities in grassroots areas.

“Isuzu EA’s steadfast support to my running career sends the important message that major corporates have a significant role to play in sports building at all levels, from local grassroots to international levels,” held Kipchoge.

Eldoret town burst into celebration as the marathoner neared the finishing line, with Kenyans Amos Kipruto and Wilson Kipsang bagging silver and bronze respcetively.

Kipchoge will also receive a Ksh20 Million bounty from Isuzu East Africa.

Eldoret town, the City of Champions, on Sunday turned into a galore of celebrations as marathoner Eluid Kipchoge stunned the world smashing the marathon record in Berlin.

His wife and children had joined hundreds of fans who followed his blistering run live on a huge screen erected in Eldoret before moving to Kleaque Hotel along Nairobi-Eldoret road for an awards ceremony.
