De gea termed as Messi of goalkeepers

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was outstanding in the 2-1 win over Watford so much so that The Hornets keeper, Ben Foster hailed him as Lionel Messi of goalkeepers.

De Gea is widely considered as one of the best goalkeepers in world football currently and he was on hand over the weekend to ensure Manchester United collected all three points away to Watford. The Spaniard kept Christian Kabasele’s header in added time with a spectacular save. His performances also drew praise from his manager Jose Mourinho who believes that those kinds of saves are what makes his one of the world’s best.

Forster likened De Gea to Barcelona forward Messi, “He is the Messi of goalkeeping. He has been the best goalkeeper in the world for years. He is absolutely brilliant now. Some of the saves he makes at really critical times are just breathtaking.”

The former Manchester United goalie also hailed Ge Gea’s consistency and quality, “He does it all the time. It’s almost like he is not even bothered either! It would be so nice to pull those saves off, get up and it’s almost like he just wants to go home. He can’t be bothered! But seriously, he is brilliant. A top goalie and if any young goalie out there wants to learn how to be a goalkeeper watch David De Gea. He is world class.”
