Chelsea welcomes back legend John Terry

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is open to John Terry’s return to Chelsea as he reveals that they have previously held talks with the former Blues skipper.

Terry left Chelsea in 2017 to join Championship side Aston Villa, spending a season with them before failing to renew his contract with the club. Terry has been training with Chelsea since seeing his contract at Villa together with former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.

The 37-year-old recently rejected a move to Russian club Spartak Moscow after being linked with the club for some time.

Sarri revealed that Terry had previously held talks with Chelsea, “The last time I spoke with him he told me he wants to play for another season. I don’t know the situation now. I’m talking about one week ago. Chelsea is his home of course.” When asked whether he would consider signing Terry Sarri replied, “Of course.”

Terry is currently a free agent and is free to join any club despite the closure of the transfer window.
