DCJ Philomena Mwilu is a woman under siege. In August, she was arraigned in court to answer corruption charges and misuse of office. And even thought the anti-corruption ccourt suspended all charges against her, it seems someone desperately wants her out of office.

On Wednesday morning, a letter emerged online purportedly from the office of Chief Justice David Maraga asking Philomena Mwilu to step aside.

In the letter, Maraga asks Mwilu, accused of corruption, failure to pay tax and improper dealings with Imperial bank, now in receivership, to take time away from her office until she clears her name.

“In addition with the dignity and reputation of the Judiciary at stake, I would like to suggest that you consider taking some time away from the office until this unfortunate matter is dispensed with,” it read in part.

And even though, Maraga has come out to deny the letter as fake, some bloggers have used it as a basis to trend the hashtag #MwiluTheWicked.

Anybody with a keen eye will notice that the tweets are not random. They’re being coordinated by someone. So who is this person who desperately want the DCJ out of office?

Some people have revealed that it is Deputy President William Ruto. This is because bloggers allied to the  DP are very vocal on Mwilu’s matter. In fact, it is believed that some of the bloggers have been paid as little as ksh 527.

Here is what Kenyans are saying.
