Why Paul Pogba was better for Juventus than he is for Man United

Paul Pogba struggles for Manchester United because his physicality isn’t as much of a weapon as it was for Juventus. That is the view of former England manager Fabio Capello, who reckons Premier League players are better equipped to deal with Pogba’s strength than players in Serie A. Pogba developed a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the world during his four years at Juve but has largely toiled since his £89million return to Old Trafford two years ago – and Capello thinks he knows why.

“The truth is that Pogba makes the difference in Italy, but not in England or on international duty,” the 72-year-old said. “That’s because with his physical strength, to us (in Italy) he seems impossible to control, but when he plays elsewhere, he becomes normal. “I’d say Juventus got themselves a fantastic deal by selling him at that price.” Pogba answered some of his critics with France’s winning goal in their World Cup opener against Australia on Saturday.

His deflected 81st-minute strike was enough to earn a 2-1 victory for Les Bleus after earlier penalties by Antoine Griezmann and Mile Jedinak.

After the match Pogba refused to address questions about his United future, insisting his full focus is on France’s campaign in Russia.

Juventus

The club where Pogba actually has his heart set for is the Turin based club, Juventus. That is the place where he had the most successful period in his footballing career. He has let his agent , the notorious Mino Raiola , know his desire to play alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Dybala.

The supporters of the black and white jersey of Juventus will certainly embrace the ambitions of their club as this will certainly help the reigning seven-time Scudetto holders in their pursuit of winning the Champions League. Allianz Arena will certainly lay out the red carpet for their beloved son, as Pogba was part of the Big 3 midfield of Juventus (alongside Arturo Vidal and Pirlo) as together they laid out the foundation blocks for the Juve Empire.

The Frenchman has the Italian side in his heart and will look to complete his love-affair with the Turin club and complete the fairy-tale story with a perfect finish.
