3 Best Budget defenders for next 5 Gameweeks in Fantasy Premier League

Leicester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League

Four GWs have passed, and we all can understand now how important a defender can be for our FPL Squads. Most of the FPL squads have already added Marcos Alonso, Benjamin Mendy, Kieran Trippier & Andrew Robertson. These four are the central premium defenders with the very high percentage of ownership. But one thing that can take our squad to top 1000 list is the 4th defender. This 4th defender can provide an excellent boost to our rank. Also, if someone is looking to use 4-3-3 or 5-3-2 formation, these could be your options:

3 Matt Doherty (£4.4) – Wolves

The Irish man plays as a left back for Wolves. After four Gameweeks, he has scored only eight points, but upcoming fixtures for wolves are looking pretty promising. FPL managers can use him as a 4th or 5th defender option.

Same as Jeffery Schlupp, he has started all the matches as a midfielder for Wolves. He has already got three shots on target in four games. We can expect a good assist from him in upcoming Gameweeks too. At this price range, he can be a good option as well.

2 Steve Cook (£4.6) – Bournemouth

Steve Anthony Cook, the English footballer plays as a defender for Bournemouth. He has already scored 22 points in 4 Gameweeks, As Bournemouth’s upcoming fixtures are looking quite promising, FPL managers can expect more points from him in this budget range.

Three out of the next six games of Bournemouth are home games and are against Leicester, Crystal Palace, and Southampton. So one can expect clean sheet points also from Steve Cook.

1 Ricardo Pereira (£5.1) – Leicester

Ricardo Domingos Barbosa Pereira. The Portuguese plays as a fullback for Leicester city.

In the current FPL season, he has already provided a pair of assists in four matches.

Slightly on an expensive side on this list, but he could be a great pick for FPL managers this season. The next 12 fixtures for Leicester city are pretty good, so managers can expect more assist and clean sheets from him.

For a long run, he could be the best pick this FPL season.
