According to reports in England, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill will consider seeking a move away from the club this in the new year should he not secure more regular game time at Stamford Bridge.

The centre-back has yet to feature in the Premier League season, having not even featured in a matchday squad under Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian’s switch to four at the back from the five preferred by predecessor Antonio Conte has left the ‘Blues’ with a surplus of centre-backs, with Cahill looking the most likely to be sacrificed.

According to English publication ‘The Sun’, Cahill is quickly growing frustrated with his lack of minutes and is set to push for a move away in January should the situation not improve.

Cahill has been a mainstay in the side over the last six years since joining from Bolton in 2012, helping the club to two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, a Champions League and a Europa League in that time.

At the age of 32, Cahill knows he only has a handful of years left at the highest level and he is keen not to waste them by sitting on the bench.
