Mbappe banned

Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been handed a three-match ban after he was sent off against Nimes.

The French international received a red card during last weekend’s game for pushing Teji Savanier to the ground after the Nimes ace tried a nasty tackle against him.

Moments after the game, the 19-year old footballer denied feeling any remorse for his actions, which may have caused Ligue 1 officers to hand him a massive 3-match ban after the incident.

Savanier will also suffer the consequences for his tackle on Mbappe as he was handed a five-match ban after the game. He is set to miss Ligue 1 games against Saint-Etienne on Sep 14, Rennes on Sep 23 and Reims three days later.

The ban does not affect Mbappe’s participation in PSG’s mouthwatering Champions League opener against last season’s runners-up Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday, Sep 18.

The 19-year-old has already scored four goals in just three appearances for PSG this season.
