Ridiculous? Harambee Stars coach Wanted Wanyama to assessed locally

Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne has questioned Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama professionalism after the midfielder failed to report for international duty and he believes the midfielder should have joined the camp to be assessed by Stars medical team

Wanyama was called up for the Afcon qualifier against Ghana despite struggling with a knee injury. The 27-year-old is yet to feature for Tottenham this season, and missed last parts of the last campaign with hamstring and cartilage injuries.

Wanyama was an unused substitute in the recent defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.

Migne said: “Wanyama should have traveled so that our medical staff can assess his injury. We should be a bit professional in such situations.”

Meanwhile, the coach has named his final 24 man squad Migné has named the final 24-man squad ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Ghana.

Migné was boosted by the arrival in camp of influential forwards Michael Olunga and Ovella Ochieng, as well as midfielders Eric Johanna and Johanna Omollo. The quartet feature in his final squad. Bandari duo of Abdalla Hassan and Faruk Shikalo have also made the cut.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani, starting at 4 pm with tickets set to retail at kshs 200 Regular and kshs 1000 VIP.

Also lined up is an international friendly match against Malawi, slated for Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani starting at 4 pm.
