Arsenal coach praised

Jamie Redknapp has praised Arsenal boss Unai Emery as he believes he did the right thing by starting Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang upfront together against Cardiff City.

The duo started together as the Gunners registered a 3-2 win over Cardiff City on Sunday. Defender Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring against Neil Warnock’s side after 11 minutes on Sunday, but Cardiff City hit back to equalize on the stroke of half-time through Victor Camarasa.

Aubameyang scored his first goal of the season to fire the visitors ahead but Danny Ward levelled the score for the home side. It looked like the north London side was settling for a draw but Lacazette spared Emery’s blushes with a late strike to win the game, rifling home an unstoppable strike from a tight angle with ten minutes remaining.

“I felt last week that Arsenal would be better served playing Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front. They did so against Cardiff… and got instant results with a 3-2 win,” he said.

After the international break, Newcastle United await at St James’ Park and supporters will hope that Emery’s men continue to improve whilst securing another important three points.
