Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna has filed an affidavit in court showing the amount of money he allegedly used to repair his house located in Runda, Nairobi County.
In the court documents filed by lawyer Dr. John Khaminwa, Miguna says he used Ksh.274,000 as payment for repairs on his house.
The outspoken former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate claims the money was used by his designer to renovate the house after it was allegedly destroyed by state officers when they raided his home on February 2, 2018, and arrested him.
My advocates will be at the High Court on Sept 3rd & 4th to seek justice.
When I returned to Kenya on March 26, 2018, @UKenyatta refused to obey court orders and ordered his armed goons to detain my advocates and I at the luggage retrieval area before physically assaulting me. pic.twitter.com/tGr0YHo4dN— Dr. Miguna Miguna (@MigunaMiguna) September 2, 2018
Miguna’s designer, Edgar Monsey Oriedo, said that when he inspected the house he saw glass pieces scattered all over inside and outside the house with the window panes to the main door broken.
According to Mr. Oriedo, the bedroom door and locks were irreparably damaged and the staircase windows completely shattered as well.
He said he repaired the steel door with glass panes, the bedroom doors, kitchen window panes, toilet window panes, verandah lamps, door locks, padlocks, painting as well as other repairs.
