While other Members of Parliament (MPs) are complaining about the 16 per cent tax levy on fuel, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria came out and differed with the MPs.

In a Facebook post on Sunday 2 September, Kuria highlighted a number of issues among them the pretense surrounding the MPs on the fuel VAT.

The MP lashed out on his colleagues and asked them to stop shedding crocodile tears and instead start working.

“I cannot therefore turn around and start crying with you about the VAT on fuel. I will be pretending,” said the MP.

Kuria specifically went ahead and pointed out at the National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi to stop being pretentious.

“Kindly ask John Mbandi who sits with me in the budget committee to shut up and wipe out crocodile tears. Tell all those pretentious leaders to man up or woman up and stop treating you like fools,”

Moses Kuria’s remarks come after the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) released new fuel prices that reflect the 16percent Value Added Tax as ordered by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

Kuria’s sentiments however, caused a lot of mixed reactions on social media with some people agreeing with him and some differing.
