But it looks as though Michelle Obama has got his back, as she has given him a bear hug in Childish Gambino’s new video. Well, kind of. The 34-year-old’s satirical music vid for the track Feels Like Summer has dropped and shows an animated Michelle hugging a cartoon Kanye, from behind. Whether or not this is Gambino’s way of showing Kanye’s remorse for supporting the president, or a tongue in cheek nod towards the father-of-three’s recent apology, it is unclear.
However, the drawings of the star wearing his MAGA hat, while being squeezed by the former First Lady are quite entertaining. The video then goes on to address some recent beef that happened between the rapper Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott, after he beat her to a debut at number one in the official album charts. It shows the pair making up after the drama by playing with blocks together in the front garden of a cartoon house.
The animation comes after Kanye’s apology for his controversial comments, where he attempted to explain what he meant by calling the 400 years slavery ‘a choice.’
Speaking to TMZ he said: ‘I said it sounds like a choice to me. It sounds like a choice to the spirit of Kanye West, which I think is a aligned with the spirit of Harriet Tubman, which is aligned with the spirit of Nat Turner.’
