Mbappe breaks a wrong record this time round

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe admits he does not regret receiving his first career red card against Nimes on Saturday.

Mbappe was sent off after reacting with anger to a challenge from behind by Teji Savanier. He received his yellow card after scoring one and assisting in the creation of another goal in the 4-1 win.

“No, no, no. If I had the chance to do it over again, I would do the same thing. I will apologise to the supporters and everybody, but I cannot tolerate this sort of thin It was an accumulation of things. It was the last action. I do not think that it has a place on the pitch but that does not matter. The referee made a decision and like I said, PSG are above that — we are above that.” the World Cup winner said responding to a question whether he regretted receiving the card.

Thomas Tuchel, Mbappe’s boss hailed PSG’s character and attitude as they maintain an unblemished run in defence of the title.

“We showed character. We were ready to suffer, so I am very happy with the attitude and performance of my players — it is very difficult to win here. We had a good first half, but it was a lot tougher in the second because we did not manage to score a third goal quickly enough. Our reaction after their equaliser was superb, though, and I want to congratulate my players for that.” Tuchel said.

Angel Di Maria who scored a mesmerizing goal from the corner kick revealed that he has been trying to score in such fashion for a very long time.

“My goal, I have tried to do that several times — I am very happy to have finally pulled it off! I saw that there was a space at the near post, so I went for it. It went in and that is great! It was a difficult game, but we expected that. Nimes is a tough team to take on, which we saw this evening. However, we were able to do what had to be done to get the win” the Argentine said.
