FKF Clubs licensing workshop winds up

Gabriel Mghendi CAF Club Licensing Workshop

Curtains have come down on the CAF Club Licensing Workshop, held in Nairobi, Kenya between Monday, August 13, and Friday, August 17, 2018.

The workshop brought together 26 Federations, represented by their respective Club Licensing managers and Club Licensing Committee Chairmen, with an aim of giving updates on the situation of Club Licensing at their parent Federations. CAF Instructors also gave an update on Club Licensing at CAF level. Detailed action plans for each Member Association were thus established to see to it that the Member Associations will be fully ready before the deadline for the engagement of clubs in CAF Competitions.

“Football Kenya Federation is committed to Club Licensing which we believe is a catalyst in building a sustainable football economy,” said FKF South Coast Branch Chairman Gabriel Mghendi during the closing ceremony of the workshop.

“CAF requires all clubs participating in the CAF CL and CAF CC to meet the Club Licensing Criteria. We are thus appealing to all clubs to ensure that they endeavor to meet it,” added Mghendi, who is also the Vice Chairman of the FKF Legal and Constitution Committee.

Club Licensing for the 2018/2019 Season is currently ongoing with clubs having submitted their necessary documents for review prior to the June 30, 2018 deadline. The First Instance Board (Club Licensing Committee) is currently conducting site visits of the License Applicants’ offices, training grounds, and stadiums and will later in August meet with all the applicants and give them the verdict.
