Mario Goetze- Germany 2014

Mario Goetze had just come on in what had been a very evenly balanced World Cup Final Match in Brazil. Germany and Argentina were locked at 0-0 and deep into extra time when the young Bayern Munchen attacking midfielder settled the match with five minutes to penalties.

Fabio Grosso- Italy 2006

Again deep into extra time and with Germany holding out for penalties, Fabio Grosso connected with a well timed Andrea Pirlo pass to shock Germany who were the hosts and knock them out in the Semi-final stage.

Andreas Iniesta- Spain 2010

with just three minutes to play in the final, Andres Iniesta wrote himself into the footballing history books by collecting a superb Cesc Fabregas pass to settle what had been an ill tempered final match. His celebration afterwards involved Iniesta displaying a message to fallen Espanyol captain and childhood friend Dani Jarque. The gesture ensured Iniesta is the only player to receive a standing ovation at any Spanish Stadium he played at since.
